Badir Program acquaints German delegation on its entrepreneurship initiatives
Badir Program for Technology Incubators and Accelerators, one of the leading initiatives of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), recently hosted a German delegation, comprising several officials and entrepreneurs, in Riyadh.
The two sides held discussions on numerous topics which aimed at enhancing constructive cooperation and supporting entrepreneurship between the two countries, as well as utilizing the investment opportunities available in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Germany.
The German delegation, led by Dr. Kim J. Zietlow, the Deputy Commissioner for German Industry and Commerce in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen, at the German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO), was acquainted with Badir's program experience which focuses on developing the technological entrepreneurship and innovation of Saudi youth. The program also provides support and care for innovators, creators and entrepreneurs, enabling them to transform their ideas into promising technical projects that contribute to the advancement of economic development in the Kingdom.
During the visit, the two sides exchanged their experiences on the best ways to drive the participation of the younger generation in transforming ideas into successful commercial ventures, especially in the technical field, as well as enhancement of the cooperation opportunities between the Saudi companies that have been incubated under the Badir Program and their German counterparts.
The German delegation also visited several companies and held meetings with a number of Saudi entrepreneurs.
Nawaf Al-Sahhaf, CEO of the Badir Program for Technology Incubators and Accelerators, stressed the importance of the visit of the German delegation to Saudi Arabia in general, and to the Program in particular, which aims to deepen trade relations and create more opportunities for cooperation between German companies and their Saudi counterparts.
On the other hand, Dr. Kim J. Zietlow, the Deputy Commissioner of German Industry and Commerce in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen, at the German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO), expressed his admiration for Saudi youth competencies, which reflect a great effort exerted by the public and private sectors in supporting and developing the creative skills of young people.
Dr. Zietlow called upon the young entrepreneurs to take advantage of the investment opportunities found in the economies of both the countries.
